More often than none, we are surrounded by tasty food recipes and videos. Mainly on social media and also via some restaurants adverts placements.
Eating out can be pricy and sometimes quite stressful due to the fact that the restaurant is out of one's proximity. Some other restaurants are mostly filled up with customers, hence it is void of the serene and privacy one requires to unwind.
There are simple and cost efficient ways of having a deserving treat at home. In this article, I will be sharing some tips about an easy and less expensive way to make an outlandish meal.
Veggie rice and grilled pork , here I come !
Common, don't let the name scare you! It's really not a big deal. Find the recipe below;
VEGGIE RICE INGREDIENTS:
• Basmati rice
• Vegetable oil
• Finely chopped spring onion
• Chopped carrots
• Grated garlic
• Soy sauce
• Black pepper
• Salt
• 5 spices
GRILLED PORK INGREDIENTS:
• Pork
• Olive oil
• Paprika
• Salt
• Black pepper
• Rosemary
• Cummin
VEGGIE RICE STEP:
Step 1: Set aside per-boiled basmati rice (you can get the basmati rice in any grocery store close to you).
Step 2: Clean and chop all the vegetables.
Step 3: Buttter a pan.
- Add chopped spring onions (Do not add the greens of spring onion), carrot and garlic
- Stir fry the mixture for 5 mins
Step 4: Add salt to taste and '5 spices'. Stir finely then add black pepper powder and cooked rice to the mixture. Toss well then add soy sauce.
Step 5: Switch off the heater and garnish with spring onion (the greens part).
GRILLED PORK STEPS:
Step 1: Heat grill to high heat (could be charcoal, oven or the outdoor grill)
Step 2: Prep pork by rubbing both sides with olive oil and a pinch of salt, then set aside.
Step 3: In a small bowl, stir paprika, salt to taste, rosemary and black pepper, cummin.
Step 4; Sprinkle the mixture on each side of the pork and rub it in.
Step 5: Grill the pork by searing each side for 2 minutes over high heat.
Step 6: Move the pork to a spot with indirect heat to finish grilling.
Step 7: Reduce the heat to medium, cover the pork, then grill for about another 15 minutes more (actual grilling time will depend on the heat and the thickness of the pork)
VOILA!
Serve your delicious meal with a chilled drink and enjoy!
